Book me to visit your school or library

I work with whole classes as well as small groups to build confident story creators, developing oral skills and improving literacy levels.

Using a variety of colourful verbal and visual prompts to spark their imagination, my goal is for children to be engaged and inspired by the power of words and the wonderful world of stories.

I supply lesson plans for all my sessions, which are individually tailored to the class I’m visiting.

Testimonials

Jenny ran three story time visits for us in three of our libraries. All were a great success! The children responded well to Jenny’s enthusiasm and passion which came across in her storytelling. Colin Crisp really captured their interest and they loved the activity sheet which Jenny had provided. Everyone had a valuable experience and we looking forward to her next visit!
— Jenny Hawke, Bromley Libraries
Jenny is fantastic with the children. She is so patient and understands her audiences’ needs, particularly in this age range. The children often discuss the stories after and ask weekly if Jenny is coming.
— Ms S O'Hare, Reception teacher, Bickley Primary
The children thoroughly enjoyed our session with Jenny. The story was brilliant and the whole session interactive. The craft was an enjoyable end for the children.

What a great pleasure seeing Jenny today at Beckenham Library telling her story of Freeda Goes Quackers. The group of children, of various age groups, enjoyed the session very much and also loved the activity and colouring all the wonderful animals. They all wanted to have a picture taken with the storyteller too! Overall a very fun session and we look forward to having Jenny visiting us again sometime in the near future.
— Ed Zaghini, Children’s Librarian Beckenham Library
We had a great storytelling session with Jenny. The children loved the story ‘Colin Crisp’ and were very keen to participate when Jenny asked questions about the story. Both children and adults were engaged in the story and had a terrific time during the healthy food activity. Jenny was fantastic with the children and everyone left Chislehurst Library with a smile on their face. Thanks Jenny for a wonderful session!
