I love writing stories for EYFS children.

Working as an EYFS and KS1 storyteller and intervention session leader in schools is hugely rewarding, but also gives me an invaluable insight into how to create accessible stories for this age group. Every time I visit a school, I learn something.

I am drawn to stories that tackle children’s physical and emotional dilemmas; I want to write inclusive, empowering stories that appeal to all children, but particularly to reluctant readers.

I’d like to say I have lots of hobbies, but the truth is I don’t. Life is really just a rude interruption to thinking about, reading or writing stories.

Before writing took over my life, I was an editor, copywriter and marketeer. All of which gave me lots of opportunity to work with words.

I hate TV programmes about cars, crowded places and meatballs. But I’m always up for a walk with my dogs,  a trip to the country and anything with chocolate in it.

I am delighted to be working as a reading helper for Coram Beanstalk, to be a member of SCBWI and also the National Association of Writers in Education.
